Job Summary
Provides Occupational Therapy services by supporting the evaluation and treatment of residents/clients, helping develop and carry out therapy plans, and completing related documentation and communication. Works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Job Duties
- Assists in the screening of residents/clients;
- Implements treatment for assigned residents/clients;
- Delivers treatment to achieve identified objectives according to the established treatment plan;
- Adapts techniques/media as indicated by resident performance and following consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
- Monitors patient’s response to intervention and consults with Occupational Therapist if modification is indicated;
- Trains resident/client, family, and appropriate staff in the use or application of the above;
- Participates in resident/client, family, and staff education;
- Maintains positive relationships and rapport with coworkers, resident/client, family members, and facility personnel;
- Projects a positive and professional image at all times;
- Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to facility/corporate safety standards.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program and licensed in the state of MN.
- Experience: One to three years of prior experience in a rehabilitation setting such as acute care, inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, SNFS, long-term care, assisted living, memory care, or home health.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written (read, write) communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 required.
- Net Health software experience required.
- Familiarity with other healthcare software, such as PointClickCare (PCC), is a plus.
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays.
