Occupational Therapy Assistant

The Role

The primary purpose of the Occupational Therapy Assistant is to assist the Occupational Therapist in planning and conducting Occupational Therapy treatments and patient education. Advances patients to meet the plan of care. Communicates openly with the Occupational Therapist concerning progress of all patients and is open for suggestions in treatment approaches and techniques. Observes, records and reports on patients condition, reaction and response to treatment according to the Occupational Therapist's plan of care. Provides timely progress notes and charges. Assists in training and orienting students, new employees or volunteers.
