Occupational Therapy Assistant

About the role

This position involves planning and executing occupational therapy treatment programs for patients across all age groups, under supervision. Responsibilities include interdisciplinary collaboration, supervising students, volunteers, and observers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise related personnel, including students and volunteers.
• Assess and adapt treatments based on patient needs within an interdisciplinary framework.
• Ensure safety and compliance with health standards across various patient populations.

Qualifications

• Relevant occupational therapy credentials.
• Strong knowledge of therapy principles and patient care.

Skills

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, assist with patient positioning, and perform physical activities.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and supervisory skills.

Requirements

• Ability to see with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance, and perform activities like walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases, chemicals, and require protective gear.
• Activities involve continuous sitting, and frequent walking, standing, and bending, with occasional climbing or kneeling.
