Occupational Therapy Assistant
About the Role
Provides occupational therapy interventions to designated patients under supervision, assisting in monitoring progress and following up with the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT). Implements prescribed services, performs delegated procedures, and participates in patient and family education. Reports patient performance observations regularly and documents all services accurately. Ensures effective communication within the care team, complies with policies, and participates in team meetings, training, and quality reviews. Maintains supervision standards, including initial and periodic visits by an OT, and supports scheduling and professional development. Assumes responsibility for ongoing growth and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current NYS occupational therapy assistant certification and registration
- Associate’s Degree from a NYS-approved program
- Minimum two years of experience preferred
- Basic PC skills preferred
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- Bilingual skills may be required based on operational needs
