About the role
The Occupational Therapy Aid assists an Occupational Therapist in providing occupational therapy services. Duties include carrying out predetermined treatment programs, planning and conducting activities, keeping records, observing patients, and providing personal care.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out predetermined occupational therapy treatment programs
- Planning, organizing, and conducting adjunctive services
- Keeping records of patients' attendance in activities
- Observing patients' behaviors, attitudes, and responses and reporting any changes to supervisor
- Maintaining progress reports of patients
- Providing personal care such as feeding, bathing, toiletring, dressing, and grooming
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience in working with patients in a hospital, facility, or program demonstrating knowledge of basic spoken and written English; life skills including activities of daily living, recreation and leisure, etc.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English; follow oral and written instructions precisely; and get along well with others.
