About the role

The Waterville Public School System serves over 2,000 students of all ages in and near Waterville, Maine. Located on the banks of the Kennebec River, Waterville is easily accessible from two exits off I-95 and Route 201. Primary Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate assessments for students referred for an occupational therapy evaluation to determine need for therapy
• Provide occupational therapy to students in accordance with Individualized Educational Plans (IEP's)
• Develop goals and objectives for student IEPs based on assessment results
• Develop a schedule to provide occupational therapy services, K-12
• Work cooperatively with other specialists and teachers for the purpose of providing adequate and appropriate occupational therapy
• Maintain appropriate occupational therapy equipment and annually develop a budget for new equipment
• Maintain student progress records and bill for appropriate services
• Maintains appropriate communication with the building principals and with the Director of Special Services
• Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of students with varying needs
• Experience in providing services to children with special needs, including those with physical, developmental, and sensory challenges
