GENERAL SUMMARY
The Staff Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements treatment for assigned patients referred to the Occupational Therapy program in accordance with state law regarding the practice of Occupational Therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and assess patients' needs based on their age-specific requirements.
Education
- Minimum of Bachelor's of Science degree in Occupational Therapy required from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy preferred.
Experience
- New graduates acceptable.
- One to two years Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
- Certification in Thermal and Electrical Agents preferred.
Special Employment Requirements
- Current licensure (or license eligible) as a registered OT by the PA State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs required.
- Registration or registry eligible with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy preferred.
- Criminal history check and Child Abuse Central Register (Childline) and Cogent clearance required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and interpersonal skills required for effective communication with staff, patients, and families.
- Valid PA driver's license required for travel.
- CPR Certification is required and must be maintained.
Physical Demands
- Medium Work: duties require exerting 25 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible amount up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects.
- Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.
- Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.
Working Conditions
- Works in well-lit office, gym, and patient care areas.
