About the role

The Quad Preparatory School is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Upper School team for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. This position reports to the Upper School Clinical Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group occupational therapy services to students within a collaborative and integrated school model
  • Facilitate groups focused on building independence in activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and pre-vocational skills
  • Support other clinical and academic staff to integrate occupational therapy goals and individualized sensory regulation strategies into other contexts throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with other clinical and academic staff to integrate explicit instruction in executive functioning skills throughout the school day
  • Participate in and/or lead aspects of health and wellness classes as assigned
  • Attend calls with outside providers and parents as needed and at a minimum of once per month
  • Meet with parents/guardians to provide feedback on students’ progress as needed and at minimum at scheduled parent-teacher conferences
  • Record clinical progress for each student
  • Participate in weekly Psychosocial team meetings with all faculty and staff
  • Actively participate in supervision sessions with direct supervisor
  • Utilize Google Suite, particularly Google Drive and Docs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Attend all faculty and staff meetings, professional development sessions, and required special events (e.g., open houses, Curriculum Night, Carnivale)

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Valid OTR/L in the State of New York
  • Experience working with children with varying learning needs

Pay and Schedule

Compensation is dependent upon experience and degree obtained. This is a full-time exempt position in an educational facility that is open eight hours a day. Teachers, psychosocial teachers, and staff clinicians work ten months out of the year according to the academic calendar (late August to late June). Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required, anticipate at least three of these events throughout the year. In general, though, hours are Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm.
