Occupational Therapist - School Based
About the role
The Occupational Therapist role facilitates the development and rehabilitation of students with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities by planning and administering occupational therapy. Responsibilities
- Provide OT services for students who have the need identified in their Individualized Education Plans.
- Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual’s physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
- Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting and evaluating students’ progress; recommends and implements adjustments and modifications.
- Consults with teachers, direct care staff, BCBAs, OTs, SLPs, PTs, a nurse and other clinical and leadership staff; contributes to student conferences.
Requirements
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required and bachelor’s degree required.
- Six months of related field experience required; one year preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Requires ability to work independently.
Qualifications

Pay
$82,000-$93,480 annually (dependent upon experience)
