Occupational Therapist (up to 0.70 FTE)

About the role

Within the Division of Student Support Services, under the general direction of the administrator, this position provides Occupational Therapy support for identified students with disabilities across general education, special education, and vocational programs.

Responsibilities

• Providing Occupational Therapy support for identified students with disabilities in general education, special education, or vocational programs.
• Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team and assisting in the comprehensive assessment of students suspected of having a disability as outlined in the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education.
• Providing occupational therapy services, as recommended by the Individualized Educational Programming team, to students with disabilities enrolled in general education, special education, and/or vocational programs.
• Coordinating with and providing consultative services to general education and special education teachers, teacher consultants for physically or otherwise health impaired, and other special education staff working with students with disabilities.

Requirements

• Michigan Occupational Therapy License
• Degree from a college or university offering an approved Occupational Therapy program

Skills

• Preferred experience in the area of access with assistive technology
• Preferred experience in the area of ADLs with an emphasis on feeding and eating skills for students with severe, multiple disabilities

Pay

Salary Range/Level: $34,155 - $69,852 (.7 FTE, 2026-2027) – commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Schedule: 37 weeks / 24.5 hours per week.
