About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients in a skilled nursing facility regain or improve daily living skills following injuries, illnesses, or disability. This role supports patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration in a post-acute setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to address their needs.
  • Implement therapeutic activities to enhance patients' independence in performing daily activities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and social workers to provide comprehensive care.
  • Document skilled OT services and patient progress in electronic medical records.
  • Adapt therapy sessions based on patient feedback and progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program. Active Missouri Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment. BLS certification may be required from AHA or ARC.
  • Experience working in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to document skilled OT services and patient progress in electronic medical records preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cognitive and ADL-focused interventions preferred.
  • Experience with adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment recommended.
