About the role
The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their team at the Medical Center University Campus. This role involves leading innovative care for patients facing complex challenges, focusing on adolescents and adults with complex behavioral health needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead interdisciplinary teams in providing evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Evaluate patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Provide direct patient care and supervision of occupational therapy assistants
- Conduct research and contribute to the development of new treatment protocols
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy
- At least 2+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy, with expertise in treating patients with behavioral health dysfunctions
- Experience in clinical education and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Desirable qualifications include 3+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy and treating patients with behavioral health dysfunctions
- Experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team
