Occupational Therapist Senior

About the role

Senior OT provides direct patient care including evaluation and treatment as outlined by the guidelines of NYS Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Hospital policy. Provides routine clinical mentoring to Staff OTs, COTA's, Rehabilitation Aides/ Senior Nursing Attendants, students and/or volunteers. Embraces the team concept of the department and the customer service approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients according to NYS Occupational Therapy Practice Act and hospital policy.
• Mentors Staff OTs, COTA's, Rehabilitation Aides/ Senior Nursing Attendants, students and/or volunteers in clinical practice.
• Works collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Participates in decision-making processes related to patient care.
• May participate in alternate work schedules on a quarterly basis, rotating between 4-day and 5-day work schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Masters degree preferred.
• NY State OT License and Registration required.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required.

• Proficient in using hospital technology and documentation systems.

Pay

$58.60 hourly rate, subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

Schedule

Scheduled hours vary, scheduled daily hours vary. Opportunity to choose between a 4-day work schedule (8am-6pm) or a 5-day work schedule (8am-4pm), on a quarterly basis.
