Occupational Therapist Senior

Full-time, unlimited position with the Direct Care and Treatment agency. This role is not eligible for telework.

About the Role

Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Alexandria is seeking a talented Occupational Therapist to join our team. CBHH is a small inpatient psychiatric facility that provides rapid assessment and stabilization for adults experiencing acute mental health symptoms. The length of stay is usually less than 60 days, during which treatment focuses on stabilization, patient education, and discharge planning involving community support resources, with the overall goal of preventing future episodes.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing assessment and evaluation of treatment needs for patients with a variety of complex mental health concerns.
• Determine patient functional abilities through administration of Living Skill Evaluations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, as well as documenting patient progress toward treatment goals.
• Intervention areas may include: activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental ADLs, education, vocation, recreation/leisure, cognition, and social participation through individual and/or group therapy.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Minnesota; OR be currently licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in another state and must obtain licensure in Minnesota prior to appointment.
• Satisfy one of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program; AND at least 18 months of professional, post-licensure occupational therapy experience.
  • Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program; AND at least 6 months of professional, post-licensure occupational therapy experience.
  • Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with individuals with mental illness or behavioral health conditions.
• Training and knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.

Additional Requirements

• Resume must clearly describe experience in the required areas and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
• Reference checks and criminal background check will be conducted prior to appointment.
• Documentation of freedom from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test is required prior to employment (TB skin testing is not accepted).

Pay

$35.30 - $52.35 / hourly; $73,706 - $109,306 / annually

Schedule

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with 1 shift per week from 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
• Days of Work: Monday - Friday and every 6th Saturday.
