About the role
Responsible for delivering clinical excellence in occupational therapy, overseeing patient care and supervising staff. Performs patient evaluations, develops treatment plans, and implements advanced therapy techniques to maximize independence across life stages. Serves as a resource and mentor for staff, students, and the community, contributing to program development, education, and community outreach.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, interpret findings, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement advanced occupational therapy treatments and monitor patient progress, adjusting plans as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Supervise support staff, serve as a clinical resource, and mentor staff and students.
- Participate in departmental planning, program development, and system committees.
- Lead educational initiatives, present at professional forums, and contribute to community outreach.
- Support organizational goals by promoting compassionate, personalized, and efficient patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice occupational therapy and BLS certification; advanced certifications preferred.
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience or four years with residency/fellowship.
- Physical ability for lifting, prolonged standing, walking, and fine motor skills.
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
