Occupational Therapist

About the role

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, screen, and treat a variety of developmental disorders, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, language-based learning disorders, AAC users, motor speech disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, and developmental delays.
• Implement evidence-based, neurodiversity affirming treatment techniques such as sensory-based strategies and a strengths-based approach to improve independence in childhood occupations.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, BCBA's, psychologists, and other team members to provide a whole child approach.
• Modify the learning environment to suit patients' skill progressions.
• Provide effective parent and family education.
• Engage in cultural responsiveness when treatment planning for culturally diverse populations.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Washington State Occupational Therapy License.
• 1-3 years experience preferred, but open to new graduates.

Qualifications

• Experience with evidence-based, neurodiversity affirming treatment techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of sensory-based strategies and a strengths-based approach to therapy.
• Experience with modifying learning environments to suit patients' needs.
• Ability to engage in cultural responsiveness in treatment planning.
