Start Date: August 2026 for the 26/27 school year – Full-time (37.5 hours/week) – Onsite in Aurora, IL.

About the role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team, providing onsite occupational therapy services to K-5th grade students in both resource and self-contained classrooms. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their developmental, educational, and functional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address students' specific needs and promote skill development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress toward goals, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and other school staff regarding strategies to promote students' participation and success in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support for students' academic and functional needs.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of students' education plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Valid Illinois state license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Registered with the National Board Certification Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and computer skills (including email and Microsoft Teams).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, and other therapeutic modalities.

Physical Requirements
