About the role

The Registered Occupational Therapist at MercyOne Elkader Medical Center will plan, administer, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy for all appropriate programs and services within the PM&R department, for all patient age groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy for all appropriate programs and services within the PM&R department, for all patient age groups.
• Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with department protocol.
• Age of the patients served range in age from infants to geriatrics.
• Schedule: Varied hours, Per Diem.

Requirements

• Must be able to function as an occupational therapist in all commonly practiced aspects of patient evaluation and treatment appropriate for the assigned age group.
• Must have ability to give clear instructions to individuals and groups ranging from infant to geriatric.
• Must have ability to plan day-to-day activities and work independently.
• Must be able to put patients at ease and make them comfortable.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively work with other hospital employees and guests.

Qualifications

• Registration through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NCBOT).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
