The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients in accordance with physician orders, federal, state, and local standards, ensuring high-quality care. Key duties include initiating contact with physicians, performing assessments, designing and modifying care plans, conducting treatments in patients' home environments, and educating patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and safety. They participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, discharge planning, and maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems. They also oversee and mentor Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, fostering a positive work environment, conducting staff evaluations, and supporting ongoing training. Compliance with all relevant regulations, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring safety are essential. Qualifications include a current Ohio license, preferred experience in healthcare settings and geriatrics, and a valid driver’s license. Physical demands involve sitting, standing, walking, driving, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with exposure to various health risks. Skills required include strong communication, clinical knowledge, teamwork, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
