Job Summary

Qualifications

• State of Kentucky Occupational Therapist license required
• Must be a graduate of an accredited OT program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current

What You Will Do in This Role

• Evaluate each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care
• Monitor patient progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes
• Educate patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences
• Lead by example—provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs
• Demonstrate knowledge to assess and adjust care in coordination with the health care team across the continuum
• Assess patients/families ability to learn and incorporate teaching throughout hospitalization and in preparation for discharge
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
