Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Responsibilities

Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

Requirements

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
State Licensed Occupational Therapist (Florida)
Bachelors Degree (minimum)

About the Facility

HCA Florida West Hospital is a 515-bed facility and the area’s leading health care facility in quality outcomes performance. We are the area’s first Accredited Chest Pain Center and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. Our hospital is the first in the state of Florida to have earned Atrial Fibrillation with Electrophysiology Services Accreditation. We have an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and provide a specialized Emergency Department tailored to the needs of seniors and children, including a Kid’s ER dedicated to our youngest patients. We are the area’s only comprehensive CARF-accredited physical rehabilitation hospital and have a behavioral health facility.
