Responsibilities
- Performs specialized tests such as manual muscle testing, goniometry, and teaches occupational therapy procedures to patients, families, and other healthcare personnel.
- Conducts both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members.
- Provides written summaries of diagnostic findings to be included in the team's plan.
- Administers occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstrations, or other treatment modalities to enhance sensory motor functioning and general developmental status.
- Documents goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient.
- Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed.
- Reviews and documents clinical records for quality assurance purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- M.A. or Doctorate (accreditation AOTA) preferred.
- Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the applicable state with current licensure.
- Active member of AOTA encouraged, but not required.
- CPR Certification every two years.
- Valid applicable state driver's license.
Qualifications
- Experience in performing specialized tests and providing occupational therapy services.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
