Occupational Therapist (Part-Time)
Occupational Therapy Clinical Education Services (OTCES) at James Madison University is accepting applications for part-time OT positions in our pediatric outpatient therapy clinic. OTCES employs part-time Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapist Assistants to provide weekly treatment sessions to pediatric clients. Your schedule may flex from 2 to 29 hours per week, depending on your availability and client availability. These positions are part-time wage positions, with no benefits, and cannot exceed 1,500 hours over the course of a calendar year.
About the role
As a part-time clinician, your caseload will be determined by your availability and client’s schedules.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct weekly occupational therapy services, evaluations, and consultations.
- Assist in supervising fieldwork students.
- Assist in completing all required documentation associated with placements (evaluations, progress reports, etc.).
Requirements
- Licensed as an occupational therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OT-A) in Virginia.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to respectfully collaborate with students and colleagues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task and self-motivate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with the pediatric population.
- Experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting.
- Experience developing and implementing specialized groups for children.
- Experience with or interest in working with graduate students.

Pay
$55 per hour.
Review of candidates will begin 8/25/2026. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check. This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
