Role Overview
An Occupational Therapist (Neuro) provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They collaborate with healthcare professionals, participate in program development, and support team goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations, review history, perform assessments, and communicate findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
- Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentation, and healthcare environment, adjusting plans as needed.
- Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and accurate documentation of patient progress, ensuring clarity of the care course.
- Manage time effectively, meet productivity standards, and ensure patient access through flexibility, empathy, and professionalism.
- Pursue continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and mentor staff, students, and volunteers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Required licensure in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia, as applicable.
- American Heart Association's BLS certification.
