About the Role
The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource and professional role model.
Responsibilities
- Designs individualized care plans incorporating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge strategies.
- Performs patient assessments, including examinations and screenings, to determine diagnoses and therapy needs.
- Adjusts treatment based on patient response and available evidence; utilizes standardized outcome measures for accuracy.
- Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members through effective teaching methods.
- Monitors care delivered by support staff, provides feedback, and ensures documentation compliance.
- Supervises COTAs and technicians, communicates patient progress, and collaborates with the medical team on discharge and equipment needs.
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (IDFPR) and BLS certification within 30 days.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Ability to perform patient transfers, demonstrate safe body mechanics, and apply clinical standards ethically.
