Role Overview
Responsible for planning and administering occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, preventing disabilities, and promoting overall health. Acts as a professional role model and clinical resource for staff and students.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with relevant licensing authority
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Ability to perform patient transfers safely and demonstrate proper body mechanics
- Empathetic, respectful, and engaging in patient and team interactions
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and patient education skills
- Experience in creating and modifying custom splints/orthotics
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Ability to supervise support personnel and ensure quality care
- Participation in team meetings, reporting, and clinical instruction when assigned
Key Responsibilities
- Design and modify individualized care plans based on patient response and evidence
- Assess patients, perform examinations, and determine appropriate therapy interventions
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare providers using effective teaching methods
- Monitor and supervise support staff to ensure ethical and legal standards are met
- Communicate with the medical team and document care according to standards
- Participate actively in team, program, and department activities
