About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy, focusing on helping patients achieve functional goals and improve quality of life in a skilled nursing facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, assess, and modify individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, Rehab Aides, and students.
• Chart patient progress accurately and timely, utilizing therapy software.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assist in emergency procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Must be NBCOT certified and licensed in the applicable state.
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• CPR certification required; renewal is optional but must remain current.

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
• Strong decision-making, body mechanics, and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and adherence to policies and regulations.
