Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, assess, and modify patient treatment plans focused on activities of daily living.
• Establish, evaluate, and adjust goals to ensure measurable and functional outcomes.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of OT Assistants, Rehab Aides, and students.
• Accurately document patient progress and utilize therapy software effectively.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to plan care.
• Maintain patient rights, safety, sanitation, and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in community health initiatives when appropriate.
• Assist in emergency evacuations and demonstrate dependable attendance.
• Display professionalism, adhere to company policies, and uphold ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• Registered/licensed in the relevant state with an active license in good standing.
• NBCOT certification required upon hire; renewal is optional.
• Preferably one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation, maintained current throughout employment.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Strong communication, reasoning, and judgment skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and moving intermittently.
