About the role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals, ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, assess, and modify patient treatment plans focused on activities of daily living.
- Establish, evaluate, and adjust goals to ensure measurable and functional outcomes.
- Supervise and evaluate the work of OT Assistants, Rehab Aides, and students.
- Accurately document patient progress and utilize therapy software effectively.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to plan care.
- Maintain patient rights, safety, sanitation, and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in community health initiatives when appropriate.
- Assist in emergency evacuations and demonstrate dependable attendance.
- Display professionalism, adhere to company policies, and uphold ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- Registered/licensed in the relevant state with an active license in good standing.
- NBCOT certification required upon hire; renewal is optional.
- Preferably one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation, maintained current throughout employment.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Strong communication, reasoning, and judgment skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and moving intermittently.
