As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will assist in planning, organizing, developing, and implementing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. You will work under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation and/or the Administrator to maintain the highest degree of quality resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, evaluate, and implement programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the occupational therapy program to help residents obtain or maintain their highest level of physical, mental, and social well-being.
  • Interpret and instruct staff, residents, and family members on occupational therapy policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, and resident assessments (MDS).
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants as required.
  • Maintain treatment records, resident files, and progress notes, and maintain liaison with families and residents.

Requirements

  • Current license and registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in the State of New York.
  • Current malpractice insurance and a license in good standing.
  • Dedication to providing extraordinary, compassionate care.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for quality care.
  • Genuine interest in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes challenging residents.
  • Patience, a cheerful disposition, and willingness to assist residents and co-workers.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure, be flexible, and collaborate harmoniously with all staff.

Pay

$45/hr – $52/hr, depending on experience and role (full-time or part-time).
