About the role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy within a skilled nursing facility setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement patient treatment plans to improve functional abilities.
- Assess patient progress and adjust goals accordingly.
- Oversee care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students.
- Document patient care accurately and timely using therapy software.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Support patients through activities of daily living and promote quality of life.
- Ensure safety, confidentiality, and adherence to legal and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Certified by NBCOT and licensed in the applicable state.
- Graduated from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
- CPR certification required; willingness to participate in community health projects is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain good body mechanics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
