About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy within a skilled nursing facility setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement patient treatment plans to improve functional abilities.
  • Assess patient progress and adjust goals accordingly.
  • Oversee care provided by OT assistants, aides, and students.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely using therapy software.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Support patients through activities of daily living and promote quality of life.
  • Ensure safety, confidentiality, and adherence to legal and organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • Certified by NBCOT and licensed in the applicable state.
  • Graduated from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
  • CPR certification required; willingness to participate in community health projects is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain good body mechanics.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
