About the Role

Join our team as a PRN or Full-Time Occupational Therapist across multiple settings, including Outpatient, Outpatient Float, Inpatient, Acute Care, and Inpatient/Acute Float at various INTEGRIS Health locations: INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, INTEGRIS Health Edmond Hospital, INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center, INTEGRIS Health Canadian Valley Hospital, INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital, or INTEGRIS Health OKC Metro.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets referrals; examines, evaluates, and develops/modifies occupational therapy plans of care, including goals and expected outcomes for patients.
  • Performs comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and safety assessments of assigned patients, documented in clinical records.
  • Coordinates patient care with clinical team members to ensure optimal communication and care.
  • Directs Occupational Therapy Assistants in specific treatment components while remaining responsible for patient care.
  • May act as a clinical instructor or assist with orienting new employees/volunteers.
  • Provides and modifies skilled interventions to produce changes consistent with diagnosis and prognosis (Rehab and Mental Health).
  • Initiates corrective actions promptly when abnormal conditions or responses are noted.
  • Ensures written reports are concise, legible, accurate, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Assesses, interprets, and provides care based on the patient’s developmental life span, age-specific, and cultural needs.
  • Home Health Only: Plans and provides skilled occupational therapy treatment in the home, reassessing patient status on each visit and ensuring quality care as documented.
  • Home Health Only: Maintains and submits all required patient documentation in a timely manner per home health policies.

This role may involve additional or varied physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Moderate exposure to hazardous risks, including infections, communicable diseases, blood/body fluids, mechanical/electrical equipment, chemicals, and sharp equipment. Potential for bodily injury from lifting, cumulative stress, or workplace violence. Must follow universal safety precautions.

  • Frequent exposure to hydrocollator, oven, stove, microwave, heat gun, interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors, and assorted chemicals.
  • May float to other units, be on call, work weekends, or have a flexible schedule.
  • Required to work with wheelchairs, walkers, and other rehab equipment daily.
  • Aquatics: Frequent exposure to pool chemicals, heat, and humidity.
  • Community Re-entry/Home Evaluations: Exposure to traffic, weather conditions, high stress, and potential accidents. Frequent exposure to weather extremes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Current Oklahoma Occupational Therapist license OR eligibility for licensure in Oklahoma, with ability to practice under the Oklahoma Occupational Therapy Practice Act. Must present proof of eligibility upon hire and obtain full licensure within 6 months of initial temporary license.
  • Current BLS or CPR certification upon hire or within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous relevant experience preferred.
  • Must communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

Additional Qualifications by Department

  • Home Evaluations: Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record (INTEGRIS-owned or personal vehicle).
  • Aquatics: 2 years of experience and aquatic experience preferred; must complete Water Safety Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Hand Therapy: Certified Hand Therapist preferred.
  • Therapy Resource Pool: 2 years of experience preferred; must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Community Re-entry: 2 years of inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred; must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
