About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referral, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards.
Responsibilities
- Assessing and implementing individualized treatment plans focused on activities of daily living
- Establishing, evaluating, and modifying measurable, functional goals
- Overseeing therapy provided by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students
- Documenting patient progress accurately and timely using therapy software
- Collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Participating in community health initiatives as appropriate
- Ensuring patient safety, rights, and confidentiality at all times
- Maintaining professional relationships and adhering to company policies and legal regulations
- Demonstrating good body mechanics and physical mobility during work activities
- Following and adapting treatment plans for optimal patient outcomes
- Monitoring and evaluating patient progress and adjusting care accordingly
- Providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude
- Maintaining proper documentation and adhering to compliance standards
- Contributing to a safe and effective care environment
Requirements
- NBCOT certification required; renewal is optional
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
- Active license in the relevant state, maintained in good standing
- Preferred: at least one year of experience; new graduates are welcome
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation, maintained current
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform various mobility and lifting tasks
