Occupational Therapist (OT)

About the Role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct rehabilitation care within a skilled nursing facility, focusing on improving patients' functional abilities and quality of life. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized treatment plans for a diverse patient population with orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-acute needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow and modify occupational therapy treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Assess, establish, and evaluate realistic, measurable goals for patients.
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by OT Assistants, aides, and students.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and utilize therapy software effectively.
• Communicate with patients, families, and support staff to coordinate care.
• Ensure patient safety, rights, and confidentiality are upheld.
• Participate in community health projects and uphold compliance with laws and regulations.
• Assist in patient evacuation and demonstrate dependable attendance.
• Implement patient treatment plans, set and adjust goals, supervise staff, maintain documentation, and provide excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT).
• Current licensure/registration in the applicable state, with renewal as needed.
• NBCOT certification required upon hire; renewal is optional.
• Preferred one year of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate good body mechanics, and work effectively in a team environment.
