About the role
Occupational therapy in the assisted living setting is about one thing: helping people get back to the activities that define their lives. At TheraDynamics, our OTs in ALF settings work with patients recovering from strokes, hip fractures, cardiac events, and progressive neurological conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence
- Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and social work to ensure coordinated patient care
- Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training
- Directly determine whether a patient goes home or stays in a facility
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current or eligible for New York State OT license
- NBCOT certification (or eligible)
- Passion for helping patients regain independence
- Strong clinical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills
