Occupational Therapist - Home Health Care - City of Detroit - 40 Hours/Week - Day Shift

About the role

The position will be in the city of Detroit Henry Ford Home Health Care, a comprehensive network of home health products and services focusing on the complex needs of patients and caregivers. Available programs include chronic care management, joint replacement care, specialty infusion and transplant care, wound, ostomy and continence nursing, and palliative care.

Responsibilities

• Performs OT evaluation and treatment patient care duties as appropriate.
• Communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians and other system employees as needed regarding patient care needs and adequately documents all aspects of patient care.
• Supervises/delegates to Assistant, and tech as appropriate.
• Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Requirements

• Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Master's Degree, preferred.
• LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: Current State of Michigan Registration and National board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one weekend per month, plus one summer holiday and one winter holiday.

• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of home health care practices and regulations.
