Occupational Therapist-Hand Therapist (PRN)

About the role

NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Hand Therapist‑Occupational Therapist for our outpatient orthopedic center. Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, we will consider occupational therapists with a level II fieldwork in hands (required). The position offers mentorship from a network of hand therapists and CHTs for those aspiring to achieve CHT certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluation and plan of care development to treatment and discharge.
• Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
• Maintain positive interaction with centers and patients, enhancing and expanding client relations with facilities and their staff.
• Stay current with occupational therapy research and apply evidence‑based practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).

Requirements

• Graduate of an AOTA‑accredited occupational therapy program.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience applying custom splinting pre‑ and post‑op orthopedic.
• Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred.

Pay

Hourly rate: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

PRN position providing maternity leave coverage; flexible schedule Monday‑Friday.
