Occupational Therapist (H)
About the role
The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve the optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health.
Responsibilities
- Organize and conduct prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs
- Apply purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of individuals
- Treat patients with physical illness or injury, emotional disorders, congenital or developmental disabilities, or the aging process
- Achieve optimal functioning and prevent disability
- Maintain health through therapeutic activities
Requirements
- Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program
- Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist
- Current BLS certification
- Valid Driver's License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy
- One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred
