About the role
The Occupational Therapist role organizes and conducts prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process to achieve the optimum functioning, to prevent disability, and to maintain health.
Responsibilities
- Organize and conduct prescribed skilled occupational therapy programs
- Apply purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of individuals
- Treatment of persons with various impairments including physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability, or the aging process
- Achieve optimum functioning, prevent disability, and maintain health
Requirements
- Graduate of an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapist program
- Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Occupational Therapist
- Current BLS certification
- One year of experience working in a hospital, long-term care, home, school system or outpatient Occupational Therapy department preferred
