As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll join a collaborative, patient-centered team focused on clinical excellence and high-quality care. In this role, you will help patients build or regain independence in daily activities through individualized treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and assistive equipment following injury, illness, or disability.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients, set goals, and adjust treatment plans
- Plan discharges and communicate with patients and caregivers
- Collaborate with care teams to coordinate treatment
- Ensure safety and follow infection control standards
- Evaluate individuals to improve motor function, reasoning abilities, and independence in daily living and work tasks
- Help patients adapt to permanent functional changes
- Guide patients in selecting adaptive equipment when needed
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist is required
- BLS/CPR Certification required
- New grads encouraged to apply – though prior experience in a rehab hospital setting is preferred
Physical Requirements
- A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time
- Both gross and precise motor functions
- Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids
- Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care
- Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard
Schedule
This is a full-time, day-shift position working 40 hours per week.
