Occupational Therapist Director of Rehab (OT DOR)

Responsibilities

• Maintains efficient management of rehabilitation services in assigned accounts.
• Affords assistance in integrating rehabilitation services across various settings.
• Safeguards the delivery and maintenance of high-quality rehabilitation services.
• Operates and manages Powerback Rehabilitation personnel and consultants within assigned facilities or home care contracts.
• Ensures adherence to evidence-based care and care delivery standards.
• Monitors and supports staff in improving department and individual therapist outcomes.
• Assists therapy staff in addressing barriers to treatment and providing clinical education.
• Develops and supports staff development initiatives, including rounding, coaching, and mentoring.
• Assumes responsibility for annual merit evaluations of therapy staff.
• Hires therapy staff (in conjunction with the Clinical Operations Area Director).
• Administers financial controls for revenue and expenses.
• Supports clinical orientation and ensures a quality orientation process for new rehab staff.
• Promotes the highest standard of rehab services through resource utilization, clinical program promotion, and staff development.
• Affords assistance in identifying and securing new contracts.
• Oversight of clinical management, including case management, quality improvement, care planning, clinical utilization, and patient identification.
• Completes and reviews monthly reports with facility administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards.
• Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice.
• Three years direct patient care experience and one year of management experience.
• A thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing.
