Responsibilities
- Efficient management of rehabilitation services in assigned account(s)
- Aids in the integration of rehabilitation services in various settings
- Ensures delivery of the highest standard of rehabilitation services
- Operational management of Powerback Rehabilitation personnel and consultants within facility or home care contracts
- Maintains accountability for evidence-based care and adherence to care delivery standards
- Reviews monthly department and individual therapist outcomes and supports staff in improving outcomes
- Assists therapy staff in identifying and removing barriers to treatment and provides clinical education
- Develops and supports all staff in their site, including rounding, coaching, and mentoring
- Assumes responsibility for annual merit evaluations of therapy staff
- Hires therapy staff (in conjunction with the Clinical Operations Area Director)
- Manages daily staffing and utilization with input from treating therapists, clinical requirements, and recommendations from the Clinical Director
- Administers financial controls of revenue and expenses
- Prepares facility reports on a weekly and monthly basis
- Aids in annual budget preparation and meets annual budget goals
- Supports clinical orientation and ensures a quality orientation process for new rehab staff
- Promotes the highest standard of rehab services through resource utilization, clinical program promotion, and staff development
- Aids in identifying and securing new contracts
- Maintains relationships with facility management team and staff as a representative of Powerback Rehabilitation
- Oversight of clinical management of the rehab department, including case management, quality improvement, care planning, clinical utilization, and patient identification
- Completes monthly reports and reviews them with facility administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE standards
- Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license as required in the state of practice
- Three years direct patient care experience
- One year of management experience
- Thorough knowledge of Medicare and third-party billing
