About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist/Director of Rehabilitation, you will provide skilled occupational therapy services while overseeing the daily operations of the rehabilitation department. You'll work closely with your therapy team, facility leadership, and Total Care Therapy leadership to ensure exceptional patient outcomes, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services according to established plans of care.
  • Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions that improve activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, balance, cognition, and functional independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve functional goals.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, home safety, energy conservation techniques, fall prevention, and strategies to maximize independence.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, high-quality therapy services.

Director of Rehabilitation Responsibilities

  • Act as the main liaison between leadership and the facility.
  • Oversee staff performance and support professional development.
  • Manage administrative and operational tasks across therapy services.
  • Coordinate meetings, training, and events for staff and residents.
  • Maintain communication with residents, families, and leadership.
  • Drive referrals for all disciplines.

Requirements

  • Current State Occupational Therapist (OT) License
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred but not required
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or Director of Rehabilitation experience preferred, but leadership potential will be considered
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Schedule

Monday-Friday, full-time (Weekends available but not required)
