Role: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides diagnostic evaluations, develops and administers treatment plans, and assists patients in improving their functional skills within community and healthcare settings. Responsibilities: Supports Occupational Therapists by executing treatment plans and performing evaluations.Designs and implements therapy programs to enhance strength, mobility, coordination, and daily living skills.Trains patients in the use of adaptive equipment, prosthetics, and self-care techniques.Participates in environmental modifications, fabricates splints, slings, and adaptive devices.Provides therapy to neurological and traumatic brain injury patients, focusing on cognitive and functional recovery.Educates patients and families on safety, energy conservation, and home programs.Maintains accurate patient records, collaborates with team members, and ensures compliance with safety and confidentiality policies. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association, strong leadership, customer service skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with adaptive tools and equipment. Key Abilities: Ability to make independent decisions, evaluate social situations objectively, and work effectively with residents and team members while adhering to safety, privacy, and community policies.
