Occupational Therapist - Behavioral Health

Role Overview

An Occupational Therapist is sought to evaluate and treat patients aged 13 and older within a healthcare setting, utilizing computerized clinical systems such as AMHC database, Clinicians View, and Chart View. The therapist assesses referred patients, develops treatment plans, and provides education to promote growth and responsibility. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, support group sessions, and document patient progress accurately.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients using appropriate assessment tools, communicate findings, and create treatment goals.
• Coordinate care with team members, update progress, and plan patient treatment courses.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and accurate documentation.
• Serve as a departmental resource, mentor staff, and assist in orientation and supervision of students and volunteers.
• Participate in continuing education, maintain licensure and certifications, and ensure compliance with organizational training requirements.
• Engage in inter-departmental teams and communicate effectively across units.

Qualifications & Skills

• Occupational Therapy degree and Maryland licensure.
• Preferred: at least 1 year of experience, especially in mental health.
• Current BLS certification.
