About the role
The Occupational Therapist manages the patient's plan of care through direct delivery of service and supervision of support personnel.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements an individualized outcome-oriented treatment program utilizing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient-centered plans of care.
- Adapts the treatment environment to optimize functional outcomes and involves family/staff in the treatment process.
- Maintains accurate documentation and communicates changes in treatment goals/plans.
- Ensures fiscal management by charging medical supplies and treatments appropriately.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement and participates in patient care and outcome studies.
- Promotes a positive work environment and supports staff recruitment and retention.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
- Current certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Valid state license, evidenced upon hire and throughout employment.
- Manual dexterity, auditory comprehension, visual proficiency, body mobility, and occasional travel may be required.
- Safety awareness and adherence to emergency policies and procedures.
