About the role

The Occupational Therapist manages the patient's plan of care through direct delivery of service and supervision of support personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements an individualized outcome-oriented treatment program utilizing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient-centered plans of care.
  • Adapts the treatment environment to optimize functional outcomes and involves family/staff in the treatment process.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and communicates changes in treatment goals/plans.
  • Ensures fiscal management by charging medical supplies and treatments appropriately.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement and participates in patient care and outcome studies.
  • Promotes a positive work environment and supports staff recruitment and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Valid state license, evidenced upon hire and throughout employment.
  • Manual dexterity, auditory comprehension, visual proficiency, body mobility, and occasional travel may be required.
  • Safety awareness and adherence to emergency policies and procedures.
