Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide individual patient assessments as ordered by a physician
• Requires knowledge of occupational therapy practices, which can be gained only through an accredited program
• Oriented and educated in gender, cultural, and age appropriate care for the assigned unit
• Adhere to the Occupational Therapy Standards of Practice and the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics, as well as facility policies and procedures
• Responsible to provide supervision as needed for Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Level I and II Occupational Therapy students

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
• Certified as an Occupational Therapist
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Registered in the State of Minnesota
• Level II fieldwork experience in psycho-social OT is strongly preferred for newly graduated candidates

• Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
• Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
• Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
• Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
