Responsibilities
- Provide individual patient assessments as ordered by a physician
- Requires knowledge of occupational therapy practices, which can be gained only through an accredited program
- Oriented and educated in gender, cultural, and age appropriate care for the assigned unit
- Adhere to the Occupational Therapy Standards of Practice and the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics, as well as facility policies and procedures
- Responsible to provide supervision as needed for Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Level I and II Occupational Therapy students
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
- Certified as an Occupational Therapist
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Registered in the State of Minnesota
- Level II fieldwork experience in psycho-social OT is strongly preferred for newly graduated candidates
Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
- Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
- Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
- Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
