Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' physical, psychological, and social needs related to their occupational performance
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' goals and maximize their functional independence
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and speech therapists, to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment to enhance their daily activities
- Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with professional standards and facility policies
Requirements
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD)
- Completion of an accredited occupational therapy program
- Oregon State licensure to practice as an occupational therapist
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Clinical experience in pediatric settings, such as schools, hospitals, or clinics
- Internships or fieldwork focused on pediatric populations
