About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will develop and implement occupational therapy plans of care for facility residents and short-term patients. You will supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, assist with patient screenings, and communicate progress and barriers with the interdisciplinary team. You will also ensure timely and compliant documentation, maintain a safe treatment environment, and provide training to patients, families, and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Occupational Therapy plan of care for facility residents and short-term patients.
- Provide supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants in delivering OT plans of care.
- Assist with patient screenings to determine the need for Occupational Therapy.
- Communicate progress and barriers toward OT goals with interdisciplinary team members.
- Complete timely OT documentation in compliance with regulatory, licensing, and payor requirements.
- Maintain rehab gym equipment and treatment areas safely, using proper infection prevention methods.
- Provide and document patient, family, and caregiver training regarding each OT patient’s specific plan of care and follow-up recommendations.
Requirements
- Current Texas licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Sterling City, TX 76951 before starting work (required).
