Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, and treatment of patients while maintaining positive interactions with facilities and clients.
  • Develop and implement initial and ongoing treatment plans of care, discharge planning, and case management responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations governing occupational therapy practice.
  • Optimize patient functionality by directing and overseeing occupational therapy services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain effective, patient-centered interactions with patients, interdisciplinary team members, and facility staff.
  • Refer patients to occupational therapy assistants and provide consultation and clinical supervision.
  • Directly supervise occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
  • Participate in utilization review, care conferences, case management, and interdisciplinary team activities.
  • Develop and enhance occupational therapy programs, techniques, and services to support quality outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and patient rights policies.
  • Enhance clinical expertise through continuing education and professional development.
  • Maintain valid state licensure and apply relevant payment models and treatment guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational, facility, and patient information.
  • Conduct oneself in an ethical, legal, and professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Valid state Occupational Therapist license, where applicable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic internet navigation.
