Job Summary
You will provide essential in-home occupational therapy services under physician's orders. Your role involves evaluating home safety, assessing functional needs, and implementing tailored treatment to promote independence.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate home safety
- Assess functional needs of physically disabled patients
- Develop, plan, and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment procedures
- Demonstrate strong assessment, treatment planning, and implementation skills for in-home care
- Exhibit excellent communication for patient education
- Commit to promoting independence and safety
- Provide occupational therapy assessment, care planning, patient treatment and education according to professional practice guidelines
- Work collaboratively with the team to develop a coordinated care plan
- Ensure all required documentation and billing requirements are met according to local, state, and federal laws
- Be knowledgeable and apply measurable quality metrics associated with your area of practice
- Participate in periodic team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures
- Supervise occupational therapy assistants and techs according to established guidelines
- Stay current with evidenced-based practice guidelines and new research
- Serve as a professional resource to other team members in the field of occupational therapy
Requirements
- Occupational Therapist license in NE
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
